prepare officers
for what cannot be predicted

Real-world encounters demand more than firearms proficiency. They require officers to communicate, move, assess, de-escalate and make defensible decisions under pressure.

Decision Tactical gives agencies two ways to build those capabilities: immersive training at our Central Florida facility or our Matrix™ mobile training system brought to you.

prepare officers
for what cannot be predicted

Go beyond firearms proficiency. Train officers to communicate, move, assess, de-escalate and make defensible decisions under pressure.

Choose immersive training at Decision Tactical’s Central Florida facility or the Matrix™ mobile training system at your location.

Law Enforcement Training at our North Orlando Facility

bring your officers to dtac. we’ll build the training.

Decision Tactical places officers inside realistic, multi-sensory environments where threats, civilians and critical information can emerge from any direction.

Our team develops and facilitates training around your agency’s objectives. Officers move through purpose-built shopping centers, residences, streets and dimly lit hallways while DTAC manages the environments, technology and training experience.

State-funded active-assailant training may be available to eligible sworn law enforcement agencies throughout Florida without requiring the agency to apply for traditional grant funding.

MATRIX

BRING THE TRAINING TO YOU.

The training shouldn’t conform.
The simulator should adapt.

Instead of bringing officers into a traditional simulator, Matrix places characters that interact like live role players throughout actual buildings – without projectors, headsets, or glasses.

Officer in tactical gear clears a dark hallway during a Matrix training scenario, with life-size LED displays showing an armed threat in a doorway and a child bystander.
Two police officers aim handguns from a doorway in an office building hallway as Matrix by Decision Tactical displays life-size subjects on portable screens, one raising his hand while holding a pistol and another holding a weapon in a room down the hall, with rolling equipment cases nearby.

frequently asked questions

FAQS

How do you ensure the security of officer data collected during training simulations?

None of the performance data is discoverable. Personally identifiable information (PII) is NOT collected for agency trainings. For the day of training, officers receive generic dog tags with no connection to their name. Furthermore, training information from these tags gets decoupled nightly. Agencies have the option of tracking the officers' attendance, training times, and training blocks taken, but none of this information is kept on record at DTAC unless specifically requested in writing by the respective agency. Officers who train on their own time can choose to utilize a trackable dog tag to show their progress, or a blue dog tag that gets decoupled on a nightly basis.

Can the virtual range simulator be adapted to accommodate the various firearms our department uses?

Yes, we are currently working with the Glock 17 platform and are developing the Sig P320 platform at mass scale. By special request, we can also convert most real firearms into sim firearms that will be fully functional throughout the facility.

How extensive are the customization options for training scenarios (e.g., environments, threats, tactics)?

Challenge us! Our system was designed from the ground up for fast development of new custom scenarios. We don't charge for this service, since scenarios that help one agency are likely to help others. Since we don't have red tape from some distant corporate office, we can move quickly and efficiently.

Can we access detailed reports that track individual officer performance across different training modules?

After action review is available for every officer, but only for the day of training. It includes videos of the runs and all sim interaction statistics. We also have LE, SpecOps, and negotiation experts available for advanced training. By written request, we can provide AAR records for long-term storage, but without such a request up front, all police AAR records are made undiscoverable past the training day.

Do you offer any trial programs for law enforcement departments to test Decision Tactical before committing to full training?

Absolutely. Contact us here, or call us at (321) 209-2050 for a private tour of the facility, including some experiential runs you won't forget. DTAC is the only facility of its kind; it's like no other simulation you've ever experienced. You just have to try it to understand what all the hype is about.
