Spectrum News 13 has featured Decision Tactical, the 43,000 sq ft facility in North Orlando (Sanford) where law enforcement trains for high-pressure situations and where anyone can step into the same realistic scenarios.

The story, reported by Randy Rauch, shows how Decision Tactical combines technology, video screens and Hollywood-style sets to create scenarios designed with law enforcement in mind. Steve Kelley, a former Orlando police officer, explains how realistic props throughout the scenarios give the training a true 3D feel. Eatonville Police Officer Robert Jones describes the experience as a chance for the public to be put in officers’ shoes.

The feature also follows members of the public as they learn to make quick decisions under pressure, respond to emergencies and stay calm in dangerous situations, including a mall scenario taken over by bad guys. Decision Tactical CEO Remo Eyal walks through one of the key lessons: knowing where to find a safe spot and understanding the difference between concealment and cover.
